Spring starts this week. And while warmer weather is always welcome, what the change in season really means to us is the arrival of SS20 collections. Many of them have already dropped at MATCHESFASHION, with new pieces from the likes of Jil Sander, Our Legacy, Bottega Veneta, and Raf Simons lining the retailer's virtual shelves.
It can be hard to keep tabs on new high-end arrivals, but ourselves and MATCHESFASHION are here to help. So, without further ado, we'll let you get shopping March's best pieces.
Scroll on for this month's best in luxury fashion.
Our Legacy Mules
One of last year's hottest footwear options across the Highsnobiety offices, Our Leg drops an updated version of its beloved mule for Spring/Summer 2020. Merging a western boot silhouette with the traditional Swedish clog, this modern hybrid is a versatile one — with socks, without, on the street, or in the house.
Acne Studios Drill Jacket
Look at all those pockets. Sweden is at it again with the cross-pollination, too. Here, we see a classic workwear cut combining with modern Scandinavian design. That hard-wearing brown cotton is calling us.
Balenciaga Wool Sweater
You know you're under technology's thumb when you start speaking in @ symbols. Which is exactly what has happened to Balenciaga. Creative director Demna Gvasalia takes aim at an internet-dependant world with this blue wool swe@ter from his SS20 collection.
Marine Serre Satin Cap
With the amount of headwear choice out there, new additions can only go in a more wild direction. Case in point: this silk-blend cap straight from Marine Serre's Spring/Summer runway. Featuring the label's signature crescent moon, this might work come Halloween, too.
Rick Owens x Champion Hooded Sweatshirt
When we heard that the dark lord of fashion was teaming up with sportswear giant Champion, we have to admit we were a little confused before we became intrigued. Inspired by the designer's childhood trips to Mexico, the collection brings us a host of characteristically-dark staples for gym-going goths. The hooded sweatshirt with dual-branding is one highlight.
1017 ALYX 9SM Sneakers
Featuring a star-studded line-up that included Bell Hadid, the SS20 1017 ALYX 9SM show saw utilitarian design meet wearable wardrobe staples. Boasting a must-have Vibram sole, the mesh sneakers are an-black pair for those that want to ensure they can wear a pair of $800+ shoes every day, and with everything.
Bottega Veneta Crossbody Bag
The menswear edition of Bottega Veneta's crossbody bag is served up in soft leather and finished off with antique gold detailing. A stunning way to carry your essentials across the city.
Jil Sander Twill Coat
OK, so we know this isn't dressed in your typical spring colors, but who cares when it's Jil. This was a particularly attention-grabbing member of the German label's SS20 cast in Paris last year, and the wait for it to hit stores has been unbearable at times.
Loewe Pouch Bag
It's no secret that menswear has become way more open to accessories in recent years, and this compact pouch from Loewe is just one example of how the range of bag type men are willing to wear has been blown wide open. Worn across the body, this handy little piece also includes a place to store your credit card you used to cop this.
Raf Simons Denim Jacket
Hot on the high-fashion heels of the confirmation that Raf is indeed going to Prada, the designer's SS20 collection has now reached retailers. Giving nods to rebellious subcultures, the black denim jacket from the new line comes bearing badges and pins.
Gucci Poplin Shirt
We've provided you some of the season's latest outerwear, shoes, and accessories thus far. And now it's high time for the shirt. More summer than spring, this statement piece by Gucci does things louder than most of the above. With a Cuban collar, floral work, and GG emblem graphics, this seems to come straight from '60s Miami.
Jacquemus Shirt
We're not stopping there on the floral front, though. The sun is coming, and we want more. Jacquemus' SS20 runway was all about bringing the French countryside to the masses, and that's exactly what we get here. Perfect for layering with during those chilly Province evenings, too.
