Fashion Buyers Weigh In on the 10 Best T-Shirts of SS19
If you've been keeping up with our recent round-ups of the SS19 pieces fashion's most in-the-know buyers are recommending, you should by now have some pretty steezy deliveries of jackets, shirts, pants, and accessories on their way. Next up – an essential – the T-shirt.
Talking to buyers from some of our favorite outlets, including everyone from Hackney's LN-CC to global go-to Farfetch, below are some of the tees that the fashion elite will be rocking this year, made up of short sleeves, long sleeves, boxy fits, crops, and everything in-between.
As well as some expected highlights from the likes of NEIGHBORHOOD and recent breakthrough brand PHIPPS, some interesting finds from our suggestions are retailers doubling up on suggestions from Jil Sander (a brand which has heavily featured in all our guides so far), and the tie-dye offerings of lesser-known Vyner Articles.

"Samuel Ross has a unique eye for print and branding that sets him apart from his contemporaries. The Screws Tee is a perfect example, with its late ’90s wide-text vibes – go oversized for maximum effect."

Farfetch
“Vyner Articles is one of the most exciting emerging menswear labels right now. Everything they make looks like the kind of vintage pieces you never manage to find in real life."
Robert Nowill, global content and style editor at Farfetch
Voo Store
"Phipps is definitely one of the brands to look out for in 2019. Its designs are just the right mix of sophistication and outdoor practicality."
Thibaud Guyonnet, buyer at Voo Store
LN-CC
"Prada is known for its iconic prints and this season was no different. The latest menswear collection nods to the 1960s, ultimately renewing its graphics for a new generation. The Hippy Print Turtle Neck is colorful and classic – a fresh approach for a fresh season!"
Reece Crisp, head of buying, creative, and styling at LN-CC
MR PORTER
"Tattoo Artist Dr. Woo has partnered with some of the best streetwear brands around, and my favorite t-shirt this season is the result of his most recent collaboration with cult Japanese brand Neighbourhood. Available in a black and cream colorway, the long-sleeved tee features Neighbourhood’s emblem alongside a palm and Dr. Woo printed in his signature style. It’s a piece I can’t wait to wear with black trousers and sneakers."
George Archer, buyer at MR PORTER
MATCHESFASHION
“Bianca Saunders’ version of the classic white t-shirt features a cropped shape and sewn-in creases. I like this take on a seasonal menswear staple – it's directional but versatile enough for any man’s wardrobe.”
Damien Paul, head of menswear at MATCHESFASHION
Browns
"This is a great photo print tee from Jil Sander, with the print titled ‘Silence’ covering the collar in washed-out red."
Lee Goldup, menswear buyer at Browns Fashion
MACHINE-A
"Heikki Salonen’s brand Vyner Articles goes for the psychedelic tie-dye theme and bold color palettes this season. Inspired by a range of long-haired musicians including Aphex Twin and the Grateful Dead, this collection combines visual elements of rave and psych rock."

"The search for a playful tee stops here. Stella McCartney's graphic print crewneck is instantly recognizable with its bold lettered front. In a slightly oversized fit, it gives every casual outfit an instant upgrade.
