Double Tap to Zoom

Birkenstocks have had a year for the ages. The German sandals became the go-to selection for all walks of pandemic life. Combining a slipper-like build with a hard-wearing rubber outsole made Birkenstock an easy choice for those looking to sport one pair from morning to evening. The popularity looks set to continue, shouldered by a string of high-end collaborations. The latest in line is Jil Sander.

Move out of the way, Rick Owens. It’s Jil’s turn to put a luxury spin on Birkenstock. From familiar favorites like Arizona to lesser-known silhouettes like the Berlin Mule, Birkenstock x Jil Sander promises a style for everyone. Plush suede and premium leather uppers sit atop bold, oversized black outsoles which subtly reinvent the shape of the sandals. ‘Subtle’ really is the name of the game here; why reinvent the Birkenstock when it’s already best in class?

The collaboration will see a wider release in July, but you can already cop a handful of the styles at MyTheresa as part of the exclusive pre-launch.
