Today, New Balance gives us a first look at its debut collaboration with Black-owned Los Angeles brand, Bricks & Wood. The meaningful project centers around the ever-popular 57/40, here paying homage to Black America, while more specifically pointing to the South Central LA lifestyle.
In other collaborative news, KidSuper and PUMA are back with a new release, one that spotlights a brand staple in the Suede, in addition to the seasonally-appropriate RS-Sandal. And speaking of repeat collaborators, ASICS has teamed up with F/CE. and COSTS for a second time to issue a triple threat take on the GEL-FUJI TRABUCO 9.
Hoopers and J. Cole fans can look forward to new iterations of the PUMA RS-DREAMER dropping over the next several weeks, as three colorways of the low-top basketball shoe are being prepped for launch. And lastly, Vans has partnered with the NAACP to provide Black college students with scholarships.

Editor’s Notes: South Central LA brand Bricks & Wood has reimagined the 57/40 for its first-ever collaboration with New Balance. As with each release, the label aims to celebrate Black America, all while giving a nod to the South Central LA lifestyle. The vibrant green colorway of the 57/40 points to the LA neighborhood Bricks & Wood founder Kacey Lynch is so passionate about. Look for the sneaker to release exclusively at Bricks & Wood on May 27 and then globally through New Balance on June 4.
KidSuper x PUMA Suede and RS-Sandal

Editor’s Notes: PUMA is continuing its partnership with burgeoning brand KidSuper, as a new two-shoe capsule is launching in just a matter of days. Leading the assortment is a distinctive take on the Suede, which appears in grey washed suede with a pink Formstrip. The tongue is outfitted with a special stash pocket, while the standout design element emerges in the form of a pencil holder that is stitched to the side of the shoe. Joining the Suede is a new silhouette, called the RS-Sandal. As the name suggests, the RS-Sandal is inspired by select models from PUMA's RS line.

Editor’s Notes: Following their recent release of the All-Court Alpha-L, F/CE., COSTS, and ASICS are back together again for a new joint foray, this time centered around the GEL-FUJI TRABUCO 9. The sneaker blends the signature outdoor performance elements of F/CE. with the essential architectural elements of Lingnan as represented by COSTS, as the collaboration ultimately draws inspiration from the distinctive outlines of Lingnan architecture.
PUMA RS-DREAMER New Colorways

Editor’s Notes: J. Cole's basketball sneaker, the PUMA RS-DREAMER, is rolling out in a string of new colorways. The court-ready kicks are known for their snug and responsive fit, featuring a disruptive cord lacing system, ProFoam midsole, and RS foam heel for maximum energy return. Beginning May 28, the RS-DREAMER will be available in a striking red colorway, followed by a blue iteration on July 2 and a lime green pair on September 3.
Vans Partners With the NAACP to Support Black College Students
Editor’s Notes: The NAACP Creative Sole Scholarship Powered by Vans will be awarded to 50 Black college students in the United States pursuing a creative career in art, music, journalism, marketing, design, communications, or architecture. Each student chosen will receive $5,000 each year (up to four years) to go towards their tuition fees. Applications for the scholarship are currently being accepted through June 18, with recipients being announced August 9. You can review the requirements and apply here.
