Kano is the latest artist to have joined Daniel Lee’s quintessentially British Burberry revolution.

The rapper has been revealed face of the house’s newly-released imagery, which was once again captured by Tyrone Lebon, a photographer Lee worked with on several occasions during his time at Bottega Veneta.

37 year old Kano joins names like Skepta, Shygirl, Georgia May Jagger, and Lennon Gallagher in the drip-feeding of Lee’s creative expression of Burberry, which was initially revealed earlier this year.

Since replacing Riccardo Tisci as Chief Creative Officer of the British luxury house late last year, Lee has been hellbent on taking Burberry back to its roots, and has stripped things back by focusing solely on British talent.

This theme was also evident during Lee’s debut Burberry show at London Fashion Week FW23, where he presented a sleek and traditional collection that features a slew of archival styles and jacquards which had been revamped in an epochal Lee way.

Away from the clothes too it was all change. The former Bottega Veneta creative director earlier this year revealed that he'd also given the house’s motif a shake-up and reverted back to Burberry’s “Equestrian Knight” logo that was first used at the beginning of the 20th century.

This updated logo replaced the Sans-Serif-style logo the house has been using since early 2018, a design similar to an array of other luxury labels who also opted for an uninspiring geometric ensemble in recent years.

While we’re only a mere six months into Lee’s Burberry tenure, it’s clear to see the approach he’s taking. And, after a room-diving era under Tisci, it’s safe to say that Burberry, on the whole, looks to be back on the rise. But, then again, what else did you expect from Lee?
