Aside from their lives in the public eye, there's not all that many common denominators one could attribute to the large cast of Burberry's new campaign – at first glance, that is.

If nothing else though, they all agree on one thing: There is no other woolen accessory quite as iconic as the checked Burberry scarf.

Known as the Burberry Check, the infamous pattern premiered in the 1920s, employed for the British house's trench coat lining.

By the 1960s, a Paris buyer had removed it from a jacket and, on a creative whim, flung it over trunks and umbrellas, sowing thereby the seed for the print to be introduced into – or rather onto – other products than just the innards of their outerwear: Hats, bags, and, you guessed it, scarves.

Fast forwarding from the scarf's debut in the early 1970s to 2024, it now exists in many an iteration, with varying color schemes, personalization options, and sizes to have launched in the 50+ years since.

Olivia Colman? Little Simz? Eberechi Eze? You just know something's good when an intergenerational line up of Award-winning entertainers, supermodels, and athletes all shake hands on it.
