If Your Underwear Isn’t Calvin Klein, Go Speak to the Manager
Calvin Klein is cementing its position at the top of the underwear food chain. The NYC-based brand has launched a new campaign aptly named “Calvins or nothing,” featuring two series of striking black and white portraits.
The first series was directed and shot by 22-year-old photographer Gray Sorrenti, who has already shot campaigns for brands such as Loewe, Saint Laurent, and Moncler. She also happens to be the daughter of legendary photographer Mario Sorrenti, who became known for shooting provocative Calvin Klein campaigns starring Kate Moss in the ‘90s. Sorrenti Jr.’s turn behind the camera captures the refreshed, 2022 CK identity, minimal and impactful while still strongly rooted in sensuality. The series stars American actress and musician Maya Hawke - daughter of actors Uma Thurman and Ethan Hawke - and Belgian football star Romelu Lukaku.
The second series was directed and shot by London-based photographer Sarah Piantadosi, whose extensive portfolio includes work for Alexander McQueen and Saks Fifth Avenue, and stars English rapper, singer-songwriter, and DJ Shygirl, German social media star Nic Kaufmann and Italian actress Coco Rebecca Edogamhe.
You know the saying: if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Calvin Klein’s enduring appeal lies in its tried and tested formula - the brand has perfected the art of continuous product refreshment, a process that keeps the innovation wheels turning while still ensuring the products remain of the utmost quality. For “Calvins or nothing,” classic underwear is tweaked via new “Modern Cotton” silhouettes, while new styles such as “Embossed Icon” offer wearers unmatched refinement and casual comfort. Graphic lace is kept spicy thanks to the minimalist “CK Black” line, and “Bonded Flex” uses an innovative seamless knit which allows for wire-free support. So go ahead, treat yourself, and demand only the very best of undergarments - you deserve it.
