Cam'ron Calls Faizon a Liar, Says JAY-Z Definitely Dealt Drugs
Cam'ron has come to JAY-Z's defense after comedian Faizon Love accused Hov of "fake dope-dealing" in a recent episode of the Hip-Hop Uncensored podcast.
JAY-Z's oeuvre engages heavily with his drug-dealing past and he rose to prominence thanks in part to an unflinching depiction of selling cocaine in his youth. Faizon, however, recently suggested that JAY had embellished his history. "I like Jay-Z. I like him as a guy and the whole thing he created about this fake dope-dealing" he said, "That's when I stopped liking him. This nigga ain't sold no cocaine in his life—I don't think he's ever won a fight."
Faizon argued that, if JAY had lived the life he claimed, there would be far more stories of failure. "There's no stories of the other side," he said. "Somebody going to bust you. Nobody ever sold you pancake? ... All this shit sounds like an episode of Miami Vice."
Last night, Cam'ron came to JAY's defense and corroborate his street hustling accounts. "I know me and Hov haven’t had the best relationship (publicly)" he wrote on Instagram, "but Faizon don’t know what the fuck he’s talking bout." Check out the post below.
Cam'ron then took aim at the comedian, tagging his post, "#UwasntThere #iwasthere for some it #HusltersRespectHustlers #UwasSellingNicksOutTheIceCreamTruck."
JAY-Z and Cam'ron were believed to be embroiled in beef soon after Cam’ signed to Jay’s Roc-A-Fella Records and the two went on to trade diss tracks in 2006. But they apparently buried the hatchet last year, when they performed their 2002 collaboration “Welcome To New York City” during JAY's “B-Sides 2” concert at Webster Hall.
