Yes, Casio makes god-tier watches. Scouring the web, across Discord channels, Instagram posts, in thought-pieces, and on Reddit, you'll find watch enthusiasts, like Pride & Pinion's Nico Leonard, who will unironically argue that Casio is better than most big-name brands. Why? Watches like the F-91W, CA53W-1, or F100 are horological superstars for even the most seasoned collector. Casio timepieces are reliable, designed with love, and most importantly, riddled with nostalgia.

The Japanese brand has doubled down on that nostalgia with its latest Casio Vintage X PAC-MAN special edition watch, the A100WEPC. Two things may come to mind when you see this watch — the countless quarters you spent trying to avoid those colorful ghosts and the 1979 classic, Alien.

The former doesn't really need an introduction. Making its debut in 1980, PAC-MAN is one of the most iconic video games ever produced. You've probably played it. Your friends probably have played it. Hell, even your grandparents have probably lost a few hours playing PAC-MAN. According to the Guinness World Records, as of 2005, the game is officially the world's most successful coin-operated game.

As for the latter, today's A100WEPC is a modern update to Casio's 1978 F-100 watch. The F100 was the brand's first quartz watch with a full resin exterior. The retro-futuristic design was worn by Sigourney Weaver during her notable portrayal as Ripley in Ridley Scott's film.

The two pop culture icons come together beautifully on the A100WEPC's 32mm-wide case, with gold-tone plating and a full steel bracelet. The arcade design is in full display on the face of the watch, complete with a laser-etched PAC-MAN as well as those pesky ghosts.

The watch's control center features four buttons that allow users to access a chronograph, various watch modes, a calendar display, and an alarm. The A100WEPC's backlight glows a bright yellow-orange while the case back also features etched details about the game, a nice touch.
