For Chanel's Fall 2018/19 Haute Couture show, Karl Lagerfeld paid homage to his adopted hometown by turning the runway into a recreation of a Parisian street.

The interior of Grand Palais was transformed into a street on the banks of the River Seine, complete with streetlights, benches, and street vendors selling art (a familiar site to anyone who's spent time in the French capital).
