Congrats are in order for Christopher John Rogers, who just won the 2019 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund. The grand prize grants Rogers $400,000 and a year of mentorship from a CFDA member. Participants of the CFDA board include Virgil Abloh, Kerby Jean-Raymond, Carly Cushnie, and more.

“I am so grateful to my parents for giving up so much that allowed me to be here, to my team who, through all the full-time jobs and all the leaving early, allow us to make this collection, and thank you to the judges for seeing something in me,” Rogers said in his acceptance speech.

The 25-year-old designer started his career in Brooklyn, NY and has had several high-profile names dressed in collection including Michelle Obama, Lizzo, Rihanna, and more. “This is the physical manifestation of the prayers and sacrifices of my forefathers. God, the universe, my family, my TEAM, the judges. Thank you, endlessly,” Rogers wrote on an Instagram post.

Runner ups for the fund included Danielle Hirsch of Danielle Frankel and Reese Cooper who will be both receiving $150,000 each and a year of mentorship. Hirsch is the CVFF’s first-ever bridalwear finalist.

Congratulations to all three winners!
