Clints’ Chunky Sneaker Reveals Its Wild Side
Each time Clints previews a new sneaker on its Instagram page, it somehow manages to outdo itself. And with its newest pair, the Oasis Wild-Cats, the fledgling sneaker label has once again upped the levels by creating its wildest sneaker yet.
The Manchester-based brand is one of the most exciting names among a new crop of sneaker brands and has launched a pony hair take on its third-generation sneaker model, the Oasis.
The sneaker is inspired by organic architecture (its first release included a campaign shot in front of Nido de Quetzalcóatl by Javier Senosiain, a famous organic architecture site) with its complex paneling on the upper reminiscent of the curved lines and free-flowing shapes often found in organic architecture.
On this new colorway, titled Wild-Cats, Clints takes the eye-catching sneaker and covers a large portion of the upper with pony fabric.
The hairy panel is interspersed by oval-shaped bubbles and joined by a mix of other materials on the upper including elephant print suede — I did warn you, this is a distinctive sneaker style.
The chunky sneaker is finished with hits of branding, including Clints' name cleverly spelled out along the midsole, and is available to buy in a raffle that’s live now on Clints' website retailing for £185 (around $235). There’s normally high demand for Clints' shoes, so good luck getting a pair of these.
Since being founded in 2020, Clints’ rise has been dramatic (fellow UK label PLACES+FACES hailed the brand as a leader in the UK fashion scene during a recent interview with Highsnobiety). From a bedroom project to having a flagship store in its hometown, eye-catching sneakers like this one will only help Clints grow more.
