Corteiz' Gorgeous Nike Air Max Sneakers Still Rule the World
A new Nike and Corteiz Air Max has finally entered the chat.
The Air Max 95 SP in "Black/Tour Yellow" is a ruggedly simplistic sneaker that wears an all-black upper, accented with gold air units and mesh detailing. First teased in late 2024, the model is set to release this fall.
If Nike and Corteiz’s last Air Max 95 was any indication, their latest take on the running shoe will be one hot commodity. Plus, a couple synchronicities lead me to believe this will be one of the biggest Air Max drops of the year.
For one, the Air Max 95 turns 30 this year — the nostalgia factor combined with the sheer chicness of this sneaker make it a must-cop. Add on the elusive steez of UK streetwear brand Corteiz, and you get a sneaker so covetable, people will jump through metaphorical (and literal) hoops just to secure a pair.
I'm only kind of being dramatic. Corteiz and Nike have long proven that they can create and maintain hype, frequently attracting hordes of fans willing to camp out in long lines for a chance to secure a single pair. No bots, no apps — just vibes.
Remember the release of the "Aegon Storm" Air Max 95 a few years back? That rollout brought back a nostalgic sense of sneaker pandemonium with the use of co-branded buses that amassed huge crowds in the streets of Paris, illustrating just how sought-after these sneakers are. By staggering releases and keeping launch dates on the hush-hush, Corteiz has found a way to use its established hype to keep the sneaker world's attention — an invaluable currency for any brand.
It remains unclear which, if any, stunts will be used to promote the "Black/Tour Yellow" Air Max 95 SP. But if its popularity mirrors that of its predecessors, this sneaker could easily sell out on word of mouth alone. No gimmicks necessary.
