‘Did it hurt? When you said you’d never wear Crocs but now you own multiple pairs?’ Tweeted Crocs on September 1, 2021. Not only was this a clever move by Crocs’ social media team, earning universal applause, and almost definitely appearing on one of your news feeds that week, but it was also a painfully astute question that hit home. It’s true. Crocs are cool now and have been for a while. Thanks, in no small part, to collaborations like the Crocs x Beams Allterrain Sandal.

Crocs have long been the subject of home customizations thanks to their simple build. If you follow Arc’teryx ambassador Nicole Mclaughlin on Instagram, you’ll have seen the designer exploring the wild possibilities of the rubber sandal for quite some time. It seems that the wider design community is paying attention to these bold utilitarian takes, too. Crocs x Beams sees the classic rubber clog transformed into something altogether more technical.

Adjustable webbing folds up to cover the vamp while a button-down, detachable canvas pocket holds on to the heel strap. The rubber sole unit has been upgraded for a smoother ride on rugged terrain, hence the Allterrain name.

We’ve seen that Crocs collaborations have the ability to sell out quickly, and that’s no different here. Having sold out at most retailers, don’t sleep on the Crocs x Beams Allterrain Sandal which is still in stock at Luisaviaroma.
