Damien Hirst’s Dazzling Vegas Suite Named in TIME's ‘Greatest Places’ 2019
The $200,000-a-weekend Damien Hirst-designed Empathy Suite at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas has been named as one TIME Magazine’s 100 Best Places for 2019. On Thursday, TIME published its second annual list of the best places on earth, made up of museums, parks, restaurants, hotels, and more.
This year's list includes; Under (Europe’s first underwater restaurant), the breathtaking InterContinental Shanghai Wonderland, and the Mori Building Digital Art Museum.
There's little wonder the Hirst-designed suite made the cut. It features six original works as well as custom furniture with signature Hirst motifs. Dubbed the “Empathy Suite,” the space includes two master bedrooms, massage tables, a salt relaxation room, a cantilevered jacuzzi that overlooks the Strip, and a private, behind-the-scenes art tour of the property, among other amenities. On top of that, the suite includes a 13-seat curved bar created by Hirst and filled with medical waste which the hotel says contrasts “the meticulous ordering of objects in the various pill cabinets.”
The weekend price also includes a 24-hour butler, car service, and $10,000 in resort credit. Take a look at the other places to make the list here.
