Dior's Summer 2019 Men's Jewelry Collection Is Inspired by Christian Dior's Life
Dior's Summer 2019 men's jewelry collection — designed by Yoon Ahn under the artistic direction of Kim Jones — draws inspiration from the house's rich heritage, as well as Christian Dior's own life.
The "CD Icon" assortment serves as the new icon line for men. With the standout piece being a chunky chain necklace with magnetic "CD" closure, other items look to Christian Dior's personal life for inspiration. We find a keyring, for example, referencing his dog Bobby, consisting of a fluffy figurine with a crystal-covered bone. The colorful crystal bracelets are then symbolic of Kim Jones' own jewelry collection.
Additional Dior men's jewelry pieces embrace KAWS' signature bee, showcased via a pin and a keyring. Furthermore, an exclusive perfume bottle appears in the form of a KAWS statuette, portraying Christian Dior holding his dog Bobby.
Lastly, the "Colorful Dior" line is highlighted by a logo that points to the Dior family's business ventures in the '20s. Pieces include a brooch in fluorite and rhinestones, as well as a keychain in resin, each decorated with luxe details.
