It’s only fitting that a Renaissance is celebrated in Italy, which is why DKNY took to the global fashion capital of Milan to toast the turn of a new era. On the cusps of MFW’s opening night, the New York powerhouse and Highsnobiety ushered in a night of drinks, dancing, and all things DKNY in the heart of Milan at the storied Rumore bar. Inspired by the velvety and decadent excess of The Roaring 20s and infused with a luscious red-orange color palette, the opulent bar immersed guests in the breathtaking charms of the historic city, with many saying ciao bella on sight.

Blending New York’s electric spirit with pure Milanese elegance, the soirée channeled the effortless edge of DKNY’s SS24 collection, which recently debuted with a global campaign fronted by Gen-Z supermodel Kaia Gerber. Despite being 4,000 miles from the Big Apple, the city that never sleeps received several bespoke nods.

Indulging in Rumore’s haute mixology inside the venue, guests discovered another nod to DKNY’s heritage: unique twists on classic NYC cocktails, from the DKNYuzu Sour and a glittery Negroni Bianca to the lemony (Big) Apple Martini. The yellow-hued beverages practically glowed as attendees, including Daniela Contreiras, clinked glasses and snapped selfies around Rumore’s plush main bar. It wasn’t long before multi-hyphenate DJs Maddi Jean Waterhouse and Mona Matsuoka had everyone on the dance floor, spinning an irresistible mix behind a one-of-a-kind reflective DJ booth. The magnifico model-musicians were, of course, decked out in DKNY, spotlighting how the house’s reinvented core designs—from blazers and cargos to vests and skirts—can effortlessly transition from head-turning street style to show-stopping club-approved ensembles.

Dancing the night away in Milan comes pretty close to paradiso, but like all good things, the experience had to come to an end. Thankfully, partygoers left Rumore with something to remember the night by: DKNY x New York Yankees hats. The classic caps were the perfect memento for bridging one fashion capital with another. In Milan, skyscrapers and bustling sidewalks are traded out for towering cathedrals and ornate palazzos, but the universal appeal of all-American fashion is undeniable. You can take DKNY out of New York, but you can’t take New York out of DKNY.
