‘Euphoria’ Is Holding Open Castings for Season 2 & Azealia Banks Applied
After a hugely successful debut, Euphoria has been renewed by HBO for a second season. Earlier this week, the casting directors announced an open call for three new speaking roles and, by the looks of things, Azealia Banks got the memo.
"Just sent an audition tape in," Banks revealed on her Instagram stories, tagging both HBO and the show in the same message. She didn't reveal which character she auditioned for but based on the personality descriptions (below) there's only one that really fits.
According to Project Casting, the casting directors aren't looking for applicants with previous acting experience — you just need to be based anywhere in the United States and over 18 years old. The call is open until January 27.
See the descriptions for new characters Darian, Ray, and Ami below.
Darian: 18+ to play 17. Any ethnicity. An outsider. Sensitive. Vulnerable. Mischievous. Definitely not the cool kid at school but one of the more interesting kids.
Ray: 18+ to play 17. Any ethnicity. Attractive with an edge. Working-class. Pure heart. Scrappy but a fighter. Not verbose or educated but has all the words he needs.
Ami: 18-20’s. Drug Addict. Stripper. Hates her boyfriend. Talks shit. Can’t read a room. Has a big mouth. Can make a bad situation worse.
The three new cast members will be acting alongside Zendaya, who will return as the lead in season 2.
