‘Fallout 76’: Trailer, Release Date, Everything You Need to Know
After last week's teaser trailer and 24-hour Twitch live stream, we finally have more details about what's set to go down in Fallout 76. Per The Verge's coverage, Bethesda Softworks revealed an in-depth look at the latest Fallout installment during its E3 press conference over the weekend, dropping information on the release date, game experience, and new features.
While you can pre-order the game now, Fallout 76 will officially arrive on November 14, 2018. It's an online-only multiplayer experience, yet while it can be played solo, the developer stressed that the game's core objective is to build a base with friends and work together to fend off enemies and obliterate monsters. The game map is four times larger than Fallout 4. Additionally, if you pre-order now, you'll be granted access to an open beta later in the year.
In the teaser trailer above, we're taken into Vault 76. The shelter is decked out with Fallout motifs, including the iconic Pip-Boy and ’50-’60s-style interior decoration. There are balloons and confetti all over the vault’s main area. A banner suggests the occasion is “Reclamation Day,” and the vault is completely empty besides one character, who is donning a blue Vault 76 suit.
We don't know if the turn-based V.A.T.S. mechanic will still be around in Fallout 76, but the developer did tease a feature that shows how the map's nuclear missile sites can be raided by your team to arm your base and wipe out other players.
