Foot Locker Opens Massive London Store Centered on Youth & Sneaker Culture
Foot Locker’s influence on the sneaker game is further cemented with the opening of an enormous new Marble Arch store in London. Taking cues from the youth and sneaker cultures that inform Foot Locker’s core audience, every part of the athletic retailer’s two-story space located on iconic Oxford Street is tailored to the community experience.
Beautiful photography shot on location in London adorn walls throughout the store while two specially commissioned murals by local street artist Tommy Bates are spotlighted prominently on each floor, highlighting Foot Locker’s commitment to the local community.
Of course, no grand opening is fit without a proper celebration. Foot Locker hosted an exclusive preview event at the end of last month featuring a guest performance by London-raised rapper Octavian along with sets from one of UK’s biggest hip-hop DJs and BBC Radio 1’s Charlie Sloth.
Perhaps one of the biggest draws of the store is the dedicated Xbox Experience Zone, which will live on-site until October, where gamers and shoppers alike can get hands-on with the cutting edge Xbox One X console. Other activations included a free sneaker cleaning station courtesy of Crep Protect and complimentary cuts from Luke’s Barbers.
