LVMH announced a private museum designed by Frank Gehry back in 2006, and Bernard Arnault finally makes public the opening date of the Paris-situated landmark. The futuristic building, which will house 11 galleries showcasing LVMH's corporate art collection, will open on October 27, starting with a special exhibition focusing on Gehry's work for the company. The structure is estimated to have cost almost $140 million, making it Arnault's biggest architectural undertaking since New York's 23-story LVMH Tower built in 1999. The space will serve as a multifunctional and cultural center as well, hosting one-off musical performances and other special events.

With the Foundation Louis Vuitton Museum opening, Gehry's limited-edition LV monogram handbag created for their "The Icon and the Iconoclasts" project will also be unveiled.
