Double Tap to Zoom

Ever since the elusive Frank Ocean was revealed as one of the headliners of this year’s Coachella, Oceanographers across the globe have been crippled with excitement at the mere thought of witnessing a first live show from the 35 year old in almost six years.

However, just hours before his expected arrival on day three, it was announced that he’d in fact been cut from the festival’s live stream via YouTube's official Twitter account. In short: if you weren't there, you weren't seeing it. Sorry!

Fans had been speculating that the live stream’s cancellation was because Frank could be dropping a new album on stage, something the rapper himself didn't dismiss in a short speech during the gig.

As you can imagine, those who weren’t going to be at Frank’s Coachella set IRL weren’t best pleased with the news and took to the wild world of Twitter to share their displeasure. I mean, at least he isn't retiring.

For those lucky enough to be in attendance, Frank apparently started his highly-anticipated set after an almost one-hour delay and according to further internet rumblings (thanks to the no live stream thing), his set was reportedly cut short, too.

Despite a reported ban on photos and video content (the same unsuccessful rule he implemented in his previous Coachella appearance), clips have begun emerging of Frank’s long-awaited return to the stage. And, let me tell you, it looks blissful.

That being said, not everyone was of the same opinion. Many fans were said to be feeling a little short-changed, not just because of the delay and ultimately short set, but because of the performance itself.

Sure, it's been a long six years for Frank fans who have had only a mere blonded merch drop to shout about in recent times.

While at this stage we’re none the wiser as to why exactly the live stream was canceled, all we can say is that it feels good to have one of Highsnobiety’s style icons back and at it — even if we weren’t able to see it.
