Prada has debuted a new SS20 menswear campaign starring none other than Frank Ocean. For the project, Ocean is joined by actor Austin Butler and director, screenwriter, and producer Nicolas Winding Refn, all photographed by David Sims.

According to the fashion house, each of these contemporary creatives embodies a single identity of the Prada man. As the trio of men use words to define themselves, from the lyrics of a song to the words of a script, Prada utilizes words to redefine an image and ultimately define the indefinable. For this, the SS20 campaign photos incorporate acronyms influenced by abstract ideas, thoughts, and notions.

Ocean, Butler, and Refn, who are each wearing styles from Prada's SS20 menswear collection, were photographed by Sims in Los Angeles for the new campaign. The images are designed to invent a new personae for the characters, showing them depicted in different poses.

The SS20 Prada menswear collection debuted at the Minsheng Art Wharf on the East Bund of Shanghai, China in June of last year. Prada chose the modern city to represent a vision of an optimistic future, which the fashion house says has since been reached. As with music and movies, Prada insists it seeks to continually move forward and consistently recreate.
