"When you’re making magic, sometimes the ingredients don’t come with instructions,” Snoop Dogg says in the opening of YouTube's G Funk trailer. The documentary thus explores one of hip-hop's most iconic and influential sounds.

In looking at 213, American hip-hop trio consisting of Snoop Dogg, Warren G, and Nate Dogg, the film delves into the early days of G Funk. In it, you'll find never-before-seen footage and interviews from the likes of Snoop, Warren G, and other West Coast legends, speaking on the rise of G Funk and its impact on hip-hop and pop culture.

The YouTube Originals documentary is due out on YouTube Premium July 11. Get your first look at G Funk above.
