Double Tap to Zoom

Nothing stokes the fire of desire like the prospect of unavailability. That is, when Gallery Dept. founder Josué Thomas announced that the brand would be closing its doors a few months back, we began writing a list of all the pieces we have to own before we don’t have the possibility anymore. Luckily, Gallery Dept. stockists continue to sell stock but make no mistake, once it’s gone, it’s really gone.

One such stockist is Luisaviaroma. The Italian retailer still has some of the label’s best work to date in stock, including a bunch of pieces from the Lanvin x Gallery Dept. collaboration that signaled the climax of this brand’s shortlived story arc.

Founded in 2017, Gallery Dept. covered a lot of ground in very little time. Dressing names like Migos, LeBron James, and Virgil Abloh in its signature paint-splattered pieces, the brand grew to renown quickly despite its opaque PR tactics: in the sense that there wasn’t any, really.

If you knew, you knew. That was always the philosophy for Gallery Dept., a philosophy that’s all too rare nowadays. So, in honor and remembrance of this enigmatic label, we’ve rounded up 10 of the best Gallery Dept. sneakers and pieces still available at Luisaviaroma.

Shop 10 pieces of Gallery Dept. sneakers & clothing to cop before the brand closes.
