Phones have become not just everyday essentials but creative lifelines, too. Around the world, technological advancements enhance new ways of creating, and this is exactly where Google’s Pixel 9 Pro is stepping into the spotlight. During Berlin Art Week, Google launches Kiosque Pixel, a pop-up gallery in the heart of the city that uses the Pixel 9 Pro to show just how integral technology has become for artists, too.

The gallery’s centerpiece? Encyclopedia of Now, the first solo exhibition in Germany by multidisciplinary artist Julian Klincewicz. Renowned for his textural richness and analog approach, Klincewicz has created a series that departs from his traditional methods. For the first time, the Los Angeles-born artist is using the Google Pixel 9 Pro as his primary creative tool. This shift welcomes the accessibility and immediacy of smartphone photography, transforming the Pixel 9 from a high-tech device into a powerful medium for artistic expression.

The festivities kicked off last night with a special opening that set the tone for the entire week. The evening unfolded with live music, curated food, and drinks—an immersive introduction to both Klincewicz’s work and the special features of the Pixel 9 Pro. In Encyclopedia of Now, you get a visual diary that’s pure Klincewicz— deeply human, and dripping with raw, unfiltered energy. His journey across Eastern Europe, captured entirely on the Pixel 9 Pro, is a blend of the extraordinary and the mundane, all wrapped up in a narrative that blurs the lines between art and real life.

As the week unfolds, Kiosque Pixel continues to offer a rich program over the following four days, so don’t worry, there’s more to look forward to. The Encyclopedia of Now photobook, published by Sorry Press, won’t be available for purchase but will be gifted to the first 100 visitors each day, adding a tangible takeaway for all art lovers. Complementing the gallery experience, free coffee and pastries by Acid.Cafe will be served, making it the perfect spot to swing by and experience the art.

This pop-up aims to showcase the intersection between art and technology—that kind of intersection where creativity thrives, where boundaries are pushed, and norms are uprooted. During the week, Kiosque Pixel highlights a Pixel Magic Masterclass held by Kicki Yangz, where she’ll dive into everything content creation through the new AI editing features of the Pixel 9 Pro. And Chelo will perform his Sundaytape for a select group, wrapping up Kiosque Pixel with an intimate closing party.

Stay tuned as we bring you an exclusive first look into the exhibition, followed by a deep dive into the stories behind Klincewicz’s work.

Visit the exhibition yourself from September 12 at the Murkudis Gallery in Potsdamer Str. 98, 10785 Berlin.
