Gucci posted a photo of a Pokémon GO flag hoisted in front of a co-branded monogrammed tent with the caption "Coming Soon." No other details are known but it's possible that the AR game will include pieces from the collection for use during play, similar to the Pikachu Fragment hat designed by Hiroshi Fujiwara back in 2018.

The news that the first major collaboration for Gucci under Alessandro Michele's tenure will also include a gaming element should come as no surprise following the recent trend for luxury fashion and video game crossovers such as Balenciaga: Age Of Tomorrow, as well as Gucci's earlier foray into gaming via a partnership with Tennis Clash.

The Pokémon franchise's iconic imagery has cropped up in fashion collaborations before with Daniel Arsham rendering Pikachu and Mewtwo in his signature disintegrating aesthetic for his Uniqlo capsule, however the forthcoming team-up with Gucci and The North Face is the most luxe Pokémon collaboration yet.

Refresh yourself on the forthcoming collaboration below before it drops online on January 22.
