Over the weekend Gunna live streamed a special concert benefiting the family of George Floyd, the man who was murdered by Minneapolis police on May 25. The 26-year-old rapper performed his new album, Wunna, on the terrace of a Los Angeles mansion.

Gunna informed that the live concert had been planned for weeks, but as opposed to canceling the show in light of recent events, he decided to address police brutality and racial inequality in the United States, as well as raise money for the family of George Floyd.

"I never saw my city like this ??‍♂️! I feel our pain I want to fight for our rights ! But I don’t want US To destroy our own communities," Gunna said. "The police have been killing us for years and still are and we should come together around that cause! ?? this live performance is for all the black lives lost to the hands of police murders."

Proceeds from the livestream will be given to the George Floyd Memorial Fund. During the concert, Gunna also provided links to numerous activists organizations including Black Lives Matter.
