Welcome to Issue #30

Dearest Highsnobiety readers,
I’m sitting here in a baggy suit and my favorite tie, flipping through this issue one last time before it is shipped off to the printer. If you know me, you know I’m a devout uniform dresser. I have a steady rotation of timeless garments and value longevity. The vintage tie I’m wearing around my neck right now is no exception: I can’t even count the number of times I’ve worn it since becoming Editor-in-Chief. I actually sported it twice at Men’s Fashion Week (an action that is unheard of in fAsHiOn, in Paris, nonetheless)! And even though I’ve made some of my favorite purchases in the last few months (see: my dearly beloved Nike x Jacquemus sneakers or my Bottega Veneta nylon jacket), I still find myself inexplicably drawn to wearing this Ralph Lauren navy blue tie over and over again. Isn’t that the most magical part of getting dressed anyway?
Why do we wear what we wear?
This question was a huge motivation for the Spring issue. Clothing, especially in our hyper-visual world, is one of the most immediate ways to express yourself at any given moment in time. It’s also the reason why Central Cee, the British rapper who despite his fame insists on dressing himself, graces this cover. His love of designer tracksuits is part of who he is, and young people appreciate that commitment. Included in this issue are more champions of taste: Reign Judge, Emma D’Arcy, and Montell Fish, among others. You’ll also read features on Dover Street Market’s Rose Bakery, the carabiner, and the work of menswear designer Connor McKnight.
I’m sure you’ve noticed by now that this issue is smaller than previous ones. We, as a team, decided to resize the magazine alongside our editorial refocus. So, with the help of our many writers, editors, and contributors around the world, I present to you a reshaped Highsnobiety: We aren’t just a magazine, but a podium for new perspectives on style.
I’m grateful you’re here.
Love, Willa Bennett
