Shot during lockdown, the Homme Alone (get it?) series shows various models lolling around and making themselves comfortable at their stunning digs. It's what we've all been doing over the past year, just not in clothing so opulent. Brands include heavyweights such as Burberry, Rick Owens, and Dior, as well as adornments from local favorite Marco Panconesi.
"In some way, it reflects the mood of that time," explains Gaboué over e-mail. "The atmosphere of the pictures is deliberately melancholic, creating an interesting contrast with the athleticism of the clothes. The many cushions also reinforce the emphasis on comfort in the story."
"We wanted to shoot those brawny men, whom I photograph a lot, and who are different from the models we normally see in magazines. They all have other day jobs, working as rappers, DJs, or even basketball players. "
