Our Staff Answer The All-Important Question: How Do You Style MSCHF's Boot?
They're big, they're red, and I can't go two scrolls on Instagram without seeing them.
I am of course talking about MSCHF's Big Red Boot, the art collective's latest sneaker to send the internet into a meltdown, joining its wavy take on the Vans Old School and sneaker-fied medical boot in its list of viral sneaker designs.
Looking more like a computer-generated image than a piece of wearable footwear for the real world, the general consensus when MSCHF's Big Red Boot was first previewed was that it looked cool but nobody would actually wear them.
Well, it turns out that people are wearing them, and they look kinda great.
Style influencers on TikTok such as @wisdm8 and @Jaadiee (plus his grampa) offered an early look at how they can be worn IRL — even if Wisdom Kaye (@wisdm8) had had to cut holes into the backs of the shoes to get in and out of them.
And they were followed by celebrity endorsements from the likes of Shai, Lil Wayne, Coi Leray, and even WWE wrestlers which cemented them as more than just an art piece for the mantlepiece and had us wondering how we would wear them.
Ignoring how hard they are to take off and the $1,000+ price on resale sites, we've brought together a small selection of our staff members to see if these hefty boots could actually be incorporated into everyday looks.

"As has been proven by the likes of Shai and Wisdom Kaye, the best way to neutralize the big red boot into looking like a slightly normal pair of shoes is with equally oversized legwear. These cargo pants by Entire Studios provide that while an argyle cardigan is there for some color matching and relative conservatism."

"MSCHF’s boots are unexplored territory for me, so it’s best to go the safe route with a pseudo-Canadian tuxedo. A hoodie is a given any time of the year, and Vetements’ offering is easy enough to wear with anything. For the rest, I’ll keep things as low-key as possible with a pair of shades and a trucker hat to seal the deal."
Dasha Kolomiiets, Content Merchandiser
"I've taken inspiration from Sarah Snyder’s way of styling these — with a basic white tank top and some denim shorts. The boots are enough of a statement on their own, right? To make it complete, I went in the ‘postman-core’ direction, by adding a messenger bag from Our Legacy and a workwear coat, as well as Loewe sunglasses to complement the chunkiness of the boots."
Tom Barker, Style Writer
"I know, wearing big boots with shorts is a pretty ridiculous and unpractical combination but, for some reason, it's become a staple styling choice for me during the transitional seasons. And ever since I saw Lil Wayne wearing these boots with shorts, I've been obsessed."
