Hublot and Dr. Samuel Ross are turning heads again. Building on their creative partnership, the Swiss watchmaker and British designer have unveiled the third iteration of the Big Bang Tourbillon during Miami Art Week. And this time, it comes in blue.

Samuel Ross's relationship with Hublot began in 2019 when the designer earned the Hublot Design Award. By 2020, things got serious — Ross became a brand ambassador and later collaborated on a sculpture and conceptual exhibition for the watchmaker, sparking a new chapter in their partnership that would inevitably give us some industrial wristwear, including today's Big Bang Tourbillon.

So, what's fresh in this "sculptural" watch?

The latest Big Bang Tourbillon stays true to its DNA, flaunting fan-favorite features like the commanding 44mm case, honeycomb patterns inspired by natural structures, and its radically cool titanium case architecture — all hallmarks of Ross's distinctive design philosophy.

But where this iteration stands out in the trilogy of previous drops is its materials. Fans of Ross's work, previously with A-COLD-WALL* and now with his newest venture SR_A, will instantly recognize his knack for mixing textures and functionality.

The Big Bang Tourbillon Carbon SR_A introduces frosted grey carbon fiber across its case, replacing the rubber elements of previous versions. This material isn't just for show — strategically placed on the most vulnerable parts of the watch, it offers extra durability for life's occasional corner dings.

And stylistically? If I had to crown a grail-worthy piece for my techwear and gorpcore moments, this would be it. Picture it: peeking out from under the cuff of an ACRONYM bomber paired with ACW* Timberlands. Perfection. But I digress.

Would I call it a sculpture for the wrist? Not quite. But is it one of the best ongoing collaborations in the streetwear-meets-horology space? Absolutely.
