HUMMEL HIVE delves into its vast archive once again to re-release one of its signature styles. The Marathona OG returns in its original 1986 form for a one-off, limited edition drop.

The silhouette might look familiar after both Overkill and Mita selected it as the basis for recent collaborations. However, this limited edition Marathona OG will be the first reintroduction of the original and part of the HUMMEL arcHIVE series. Despite being developed for performance, the model balances functionality with style for an ultimately streetwear-ready design.

Initially designed for long distance runners, it’s one of the only running sneakers in hummel’s archive. The lightweight design features the elongated paneling and ventilation eyelets seen on the original, plus a white, gray and red leather upper. A tri-color EVA midsole and rubber sole sits beneath, promising comfort and improved grip.

During 2017, hummel will be reintroducing more iconic silhouettes from its archive as part of the HUMMEL arcHIVE series. Football, handball and running heritage heavily influences the brand’s back catalog which dates back to 1923.

HUMMEL HIVE’s Marathona OG is available in limited numbers from March 17 via BlackRainbow, Hanon, Overkill and 24 Kilates.

Check out hummel’s sleek and minimal Diamant silhouette.
