Daniel Craig has one more go at playing James Bond, to which he has publicly expressed his discontent, but who will take over the titular role as 007 once Craig's final film is done? Back in 2014, Sony's then-studio chair Amy Pascal told a colleague that "Idris [Elba] should be the next Bond." Since, however, inclinations that Elba might be the first non-white Bond have subsided, until recently.

According to Daily Star, Bond franchise producer Barbara Broccoli has revealed that we could be on the cusp of getting a black 007. Speaking with director Antoine Fuqua, Broccoli reportedly stated that "it is time" for a non-white actor to take on the iconic role. Fuqua responded that the transition "will happen eventually," going on to suggest Elba as the frontrunner for the part.

"Idris could do it if he was in shape. You need a guy with physically strong presence. Idris has that,” the director added.

Again, Daniel Craig will play James Bond one final time, under the direction of Danny Boyle.
