INVINCIBLE's The North Face Collection References an Iconic Photo of Mount Everest
The North Face will be followings its latest Supreme collaboration with a new capsule in partnership with sneaker and streetwear boutique, INVINCIBLE. The exclusive collection, referred to as "The Expedition," consists of three iconic The North Face outerwear pieces: the Denali, Mountain Jacket, and Nuptse.
INVINCIBLE x The North Face draws inspiration from a classic photo taken by Chris Noble at the base camp of the “Snowbird Everest Expedition.” During this 1987 conquest, The North Face's Director of Equipment, Sally McCoy, attempted to become the first American woman to climb the peak. Unfortunately, however, extreme weather conditions halted the effort.
First up from the collection, the Denali fleece is known for its color-blocking and woven overlays on the collar, chest, and back of the yoke and sleeves. The garment is equipped with underarm gussets with pit-zip venting to resist wind and enhance breathability, VISLON center front and hand-pocket zips, two secure-zip chest pockets, and a woven hem with adjustable bungee cinch.
The retro-flavored Mountain Jacket is considerably breathable and warm thanks to construction from waterproof materials mixed with silk taffeta and brushed tricot drop-lining. Furthermore, the VISLON zipper belt adds a double-layer windbreaker with snap closure, making it ideal for outdoor activities.
Lastly, the Nuptse is built for both mountain and city life, designed to ensure warmth. The jacket boasts a boxy silhouette, shiny ripstop fabric, signature oversized panels, a stow-able hood, and 700-fill goose down insulation.
INVINCIBLE's three-piece The North Face collection releases December 28 exclusively at INVINCIBLE stores in Shanghai, Taipei, Taichung, Kaohsiung, and Jakarta, followed by a launch at The North Face Urban Exploration outposts in Hong Kong, Taipei, and Beijing December 31.
