JAY-Z offered his private jet to Ahmaud Arbery's attorney earlier this week so he could attend a preliminary hearing for the murder of his client. Arbery's representation, Lee Merritt, spoke on the gesture in an instagram post saying, "When you absolutely have to be in Court to stand with your client and righteous protestors for justice ... Jay Z sends his private jet."

During the hearing, it became known that one of Arbery's killers, Travis McMichael, called him a fucking n****r just after firing the shot that killed him. McMichael is accused of murder alongside his father, Gregory, as the two white men chased him down while he was jogging near Brunswick, Georgia on February 23, 2020.

Magistrate Court Judge Wallace Harrell confirmed that there is sufficient evidence for the McMichaels to stand trial for murder, in addition to William Bryan, the third Satilla Shores resident who followed Arbery in a second vehicle, also facing charges of murder and criminal attempt to commit false imprisonment.

Protestors gathered outside the courthouse following the hearing chanting, "All lives matter when black lives matter."
