Nike's Got Its Own Jordan Dad Shoe
The Jordan Brand's 40th anniversary is full of surprises, from the relaunch of the first-ever Jordan 1 sneaker to the birth of a Jumpman "dad shoe." Yeah, you read that right.
First looks at Nike's Air Jordan Lor have surfaced, revealing a classic running-style shoe design similar to New Balance's "dad shoes." Seriously, the Lor looks like a classic 990 gone Jumpman.
The Jordan Lor's build is largely reminiscent of the late '90s and early 2000s runners. It's got the traditional suede and mesh layers for the uppers, all rounded off with a nice chunked-up sole.
The biggest distinction is the Lor's midfoot cage, which breaks up the retro vibes with a sort of modern detail. It looks like it'll keep the foot secure for the ride, too.
The Air Jordan Lor is said to be launching sometime this year (some sneaker leakers say we could catch them around August). It's unclear how many colorways and what else the brand has up its sleeve for the Lori, but I suspect we'll hear more as we get closer to the release.
Nike has several dad shoes to its name, including the OG Air Monarchs, OG Air Monarchs, Zoom Vomero 5s, and P-6000s. Its even got pocket-friendly dad shoes like the the V5 RNR.
But an Air Jordan dad shoe? If you've ever dreamed of such a stepper, consider your prayers answered by the Swoosh gods.
With dad shoes as the cool kids of sneakers right now, you could say Nike's adding to the lore with its very own Lor.
