Kanye West's Gap Collab Takes YEEZY In a Colorful New Direction
Gap stock is set to soar again after Kanye West shared a behind-the-scenes look at a fitting for the forthcoming YEEZY Gap collaboration, which featured a number of colorful collection pieces.
Last month, West announced his multi-million dollar, 10-year-deal with the American retailer, and shared the logo and a single shot from the affordable new range.
Last night, he offered an even better idea of what the YEEZY Gap collaboration will look like. In the video below, presumably shot at his ranch in Cody, Wyoming, a model is fitted in a pair of iridescent utility trousers while a Ripsaw EV2 luxury tank exits the warehouse in the background.
In the foreground, several pieces from the collection, including vibrant orange hoodies, tie-dyed swimming costumes, a neon-yellow fleece, and shorts and tops in both neon and pastel hues, are displayed on the concrete floor.
At first glance, this collection appears to break from the signature earthy tones of past YEEZY collections. But West has revisited one of his time-worn, favorite patterns: tie-dye.
From his feature in ScHoolboy Q's "That Part" video clip to the Angelos Frentzos pieces he wore during his Yeezus tour, West has long advocated for the divisive hippie print.
Tie-dyed pieces appeared in his Yeezus Tour merch, and more recently on pieces from his Sunday Service merch collection.
