What We’re Saying: Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's legacy extends far beyond the basketball court. Sure, he's undoubtedly one of the greatest basketball players ever, as he remains the NBA's all-time leading scorer, but it's his impact away from the game that should garner much more attention.

An activist, best-selling author, and cultural critic, Jabbar continues to give back to those less fortunate. This summer, he's teaming up with adidas Los Angeles for a special sneaker release benefiting his Skyhook Foundation, which brings educational opportunities to underserved communities.

At the center of the project is a custom pair of the adidas Forum Low, created by FACTORY8384. This isn't your average Forum, though, as the resurgent model is draped in a synthetic Lakers jersey on the upper — Kareem's number 33, of course. Complementing the gold base, adidas' Three Stripes branding appears in purple on the side, matching the "33" at the heel and Trefoil logos on the tongue and heel, in addition to the lining and laces. A white sole unit is then implemented below to provide a touch of contrast.

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's adidas Forum Low will be available in a limited number of 33 pairs, each signed by the Hall of Famer. As they are custom, signed, and extremely limited, the sneaker is priced at $1,000, with 100 percent of the proceeds going to Jabbar's Skyhook Foundation.

The adidas Forum has come back in a major way in recent months, largely thanks to high profile collaborations and enticing in-line colorways alike. To get your fix, here are the best Forum Low colorways to rock this summer.
