Highsnobiety's latest in-house editorial focuses on Kickers' SS17 collection which takes a remastered approach to the brand’s classic story, subtly referencing its original DNA.

Daniel Raufast, inspired by young Parisians, created the first boot in 1970, but it was the Kick Hi—launched in 1975—that made the brand so iconic. Rockers, ravers, indie kids and hip-hop heads have all adopted the Kick Hi which has managed to penetrate almost every subculture since its initial release.

Thanks to this rich history, each generation associates Kickers with a different time and place. Nineties British kids, like myself, might remember wearing Black Kick Hi Classic's with colored laces in an attempt to stand out in the school corridors. Our editorial connects these heritage stories with contemporary styling for an updated overall aesthetic that remains rooted in the brand's legacy. Modern silhouettes and materials from Maison Kitsune, CMMN SWDN, YMC and others reposition classic designs within a new fashion landscape.

Check out their FW16 collection in our previous Kickers editorial.
