Kim Kardashian was spotted wearing braid extensions during Paris Fashion Week and it has not gone down well. Not for the first time, Kardashian is now facing backlash over cultural appropriation, with some going as far to call her out for "blackfishing."

In the IG video below, Kardashian shows off the braids while "twinning" with her daughter North West, who's wearing the same hairstyle. Not long after she posted the video, some called her out for appropriating black culture.

"At first I was defending her saying she may be trying to go for the brown middle eastern look," one person said on Twitter. "But this is straight-up blackfishing." Another fan tweeted: "Bruh, why do you keep doing this? You think she’d learn."

Kardashian also shared a picture from her 2018 photoshoot with Vanessa Beecroft, where she wore Fulani braids. That seemingly added fuel to the fire, as some have accused her of stirring things up for attention. Check it below.

This isn't the first time Kardashian has been accused of "blackfishing." In December 2019, she received backlash over her 7Hollywood cover, which she shared on Instagram along with a note that she was channeling Sophia Loren. However, some thought she more resembled black stars such as Diana Ross and Diahann Carroll.

In a 2018 interview with Bustle, Kardashian addressed the controversy. "I remember the backlash when I had the blonde hair and that I called them 'Bo Derek braids.' But I obviously know they're called Fulani braids and I know the origin of where they came from and I'm totally respectful of that. I'm not tone deaf to where I don't get it. I do get it."
