The Redeem Team Approves of KITH's 2021 Olympics Collection
Brand: KITH
Buy: The luggage-centric Team USA Monday Program hits KITH's website and stores on July 26; the full capsule arrives from July 30.
Editor's Notes: July 4 is over but the celebration of America continues as KITH prepares for the 2021 Olympic Games in Tokyo. The New York label is launching an entire collection of sporty Team USA apparel towards the middle of the festivities. Volleyball champs Kerri Walsh Jennings and Misty May-Treanor starred in the debut imagery, celebrated swimmer Aaron Peirsol appears in the Monday Program campaign, and basketball legends Jason Kidd and Deron Williams grace the latest photoset.
Walsh Jennings and May-Treanor dominated beach volleyball whenever they took the Olympic court, taking home six gold medals between appearances at the 2004, 2008, and 2012 events, deservingly earning the women the title of the greatest beach volleyball pair there ever was. May-Treanor has since retired and been inducted into the International Volleyball Hall of Fame and Walsh Jennings remains active in the sport.
Peirsol, meanwhile, took home nearly a half-dozen gold medals for backstroke and relay races in 2004 and 2008's Olympic Games as he smashed international speed records. Here, he shows off some of KITH's thematic Olympic bags, all co-created with luggage label Away. There's a hardshell case, weekender, and lavish pebbled leather luggage tag, all graced by Team USA colors and co-branding atop a simple white base, perfectly timed to coincide with the growing demand for stylish carry-ons.
Finally, Kidd and Williams were part of the 2008 "Redeem Team," nicknamed in reference to the iconic collective that crushed all comers at the '92 games. Lead by Kobe, the team regained the gold following Team USA's disappointing 2004 showing. Kidd and Williams, NBA All-Stars in their own rights, showcase a few of the covetable goods KITH has prepared for this capsule, including a faux fur jacket, quilted bandana pattern overshirt, and some sporty, logo-laden shorts.
In the past couple years alone, KITH has partnered with HBO, Vogue and the Knicks, which doesn't even touch on founder Ronnie Fieg's never-ending sneaker rollout.
