The summer season is still a few weeks away, but your favorite fashion brands are already bringing the heat. From covetable cruise collections shown in dreamy exotic locales to the launch of fresh fits for your vacay rotation and those sweltering days at the office, sun-ready style is in full swing. Of course, a warm-weather wardrobe wouldn’t be complete without the must-have accessory of the moment: a sleek pair of shades.

The right eyewear can elevate a look to ice-cold status, no matter how hot it is outside. If 2023 was characterized by the return of retro frames from the ‘70s and ‘90s, 2024 is all about the avant-garde—the sunglasses no one saw coming and no one can live without.

Enter Ksubi. Australia’s iconic denim label turned global streetwear brand celebrates its 25th anniversary this year, but the always-rebellious clothing co. stays making waves with the fiery spirit of an up-and-comer. Case in point: the long-anticipated arrival of Ksubi Eyewear on May 9. Not one to make a quiet entrance, Ksubi’s new division is splashing onto the scene with the debut of four sizzling styles. There are shades, and then there are statement-makers—these sunglasses fall firmly into the latter category.

Like the brand’s signature denim offerings, Ksubi Eyewear is dripping with attitude. The GOOD$EN turns the classic D-Frame silhouette into an edgy masterpiece, the Ksubi logo boldly etched on its temple. Look closely, and you’ll spot the classic box cross motif. For those drawn to sportier shades, the Cypher style is your hero, delivering a luxe athletic look in two hypnotic colorways—a clean all-black or an irresistible monochromatic marble.

Another standout: the Tyrell, a pair of larger-than-life wrap shields guaranteed to turn heads in any one of its three dramatic tints. The shields’ supersized front is contrasted by ultra-slim temples that heighten the glasses’ streamlined feel. But the true pièce de résistance of the new collection is Ksubi’s rectangular Smiths, made in collaboration with fellow Australian icon and recent Miami Heat signee Patty Mills. The NBA star is the face of the brand’s inaugural eyewear campaign lensed by Hugh Lippe, bringing his off-the-court fashion to the fore.

If you’re looking for the “It” glasses of the summer, look no further than Ksubi Eyewear’s fierce debut. With shades so stylish you’ll want to stay in the sun all day, Ksubi introduces itself as a worthy contender on the optical scene. A collection this glorious demands you shield your eyes from its brilliance—might we recommend a brand new pair of sunnies?
