As motocore raced through the fashion world, it put motorsports brand Alpinestars right in the spotlight. Brands either made their own "Alpinestars" clothes or teamed up directly with the 60-year-old Italian label behind the best quality racing pieces. Leon Emanuel Blanck took the latter route.

The German avante-garde designer is already quite familiar with Alpinestars' game, a.k.a. designing excellent motorsports gear, having suited up in the label's pieces during his mountain biking days. The stars really aligned once Blanck and Alpinestars joined forces for an official collaboration.

Blanck is actually working with Alpinestars RSRV, Alpinstars' more streetwear-focused imprint which launched in 2024. Moreover, the linkup is part of Blanck's Fall/Winter 2025 collection titled Zenon, and it even includes a custom motorbike called the Zenon One. Perfect timing.

For Blanck's Alpinestars collection, the designer reworks the brand's deadstock moto-wear, like boots and jackets, into fresh pieces using his own signature patterns. Each piece is handmade by Blanck and is quite unique, considering it sometimes took various Alpinestars pieces to make a single patchwork jacket or trouser.

"Repurposing deadstock Alpinestars items was a novum for me on several levels. After having spent an excessive amount of time dissecting their gear, all I can say is that they are extremely well-crafted with highly complex pattern making. I was impressed with their anatomical fit, which perfectly aligns with my own idea of human form and protection," Blanck said in a statement.

"From my first collection in 2013 until now, my clothes were always based on the interplay of anatomy, motion, and shape. They've always served as protection, but more on a metaphorical level. With this collaboration, I gave myself the chance to play with literal protection, which I thoroughly enjoyed."

About a year ago, Alpinestars was fresh off a Balenciaga collaboration and ready for its moment. Now, after linking with the likes of Heliot Emil and Leon Emanuel Blanck, Alpinestars is the moment — a true luxury streetwear brand, too.
