Levi’s Goes All-In On DIY With Innovative Customization Tool Levi’s INK
Combine the spirit of DIY culture with modern day technology and you get the brainchild of Levi’s latest innovation: a new customization tool called Levi’s INK.
Using this new mobile printing technique, the Levi’s Tailor Shop hit the road for a ‘We are all Collaborators’ tour offering various denim workshops to fans and festival goers along with plenty of other fun activations.
Known for being unofficial outfitters of numerous musicians and their fans the world over, it was a natural choice to bring the Levi’s Tailor Shop experience to various events and festivals in Germany and Switzerland this year.
During each tour stop, visitors will be able to attend workshops and work with their experts to craft their own custom tees and denim styles for a truly personal experience.
Services include rip and repair, customization with rivets and patches, seam fraying and cut-off shorts tailoring. The best thing about it? It’s all free, and you can even bring your own Levi’s pieces to work on.
What’s cool about Levi’s INK is its fully programmable interface that allows you to input your own design or phrase and have that directly printed onto clothing of your choice. Environmentally conscious consumers can visit the Levi’s Second Life Corner where they can purchase vintage Levi’s pieces giving them a second lease on life.
The highlight of the tour so far was Openair Frauenfeld, the annual hip-hop festival in Switzerland, where rapper Kelvyn Colt joined fans at the Levi’s Tailor Shop to test out the new technology. Fans were treated to one-off designs of song quotes, mock-ups of Colt’s tattoos, and the logo of his collective Beyond Your Sense (BYS).
You can check out Levi’s INK at the remaining tour stops this summer:
