Music is a language of reinvention in its own right. It’s a medium wherein the past is drawn upon and reshaped to speak to the present. Its power lies in transformation, taking familiar sounds and forms and infusing them with new meaning. What we learn from music is that classics aren’t static; they’re living ideas, constantly reinterpreted through fresh voices and evolving cultures.

This process of renewal is at the core of Levi’s latest exploration. Through collaborations with boundary-pushing artists, Levi’s is embracing the idea that tradition thrives when it’s challenged and reimagined. Music becomes the bridge—where heritage meets innovation, and the classics are reinvented for a new generation.

As part of Not in Milan, Levi’s partnered with OOPART Collective, an innovative group rooted in Milan but with a vision that spans disciplines. Founded in 2022, OOPART Collective embodies an approach that fits seamlessly with Levi’s ethos. Their creative process is a testament to the power of reinterpreting familiar concepts through a fresh lens. From artistic direction to event curation and A&R, their work reflects a commitment to breaking conventions and finding new meaning in established forms.

The Levi’s Listening event is more than just a showcase, but a conversation between artists and audiences about the evolving state of music and design. A series of performances and discussions highlight how classics can be reshaped and reimagined to speak to a new generation. Through this dialogue, Levi’s is not only preserving its heritage but also making space for innovation.

Among the featured performers is Yoniro, an artist whose work bridges Italy and Australia through lo-tech dreamcore imagery. Her unique blend of spirituality, distortion, feminism, and avant-pop dissolves on a plasma screen in search of light. Her new EP, 'QNTM,' represents her continual journey of transformation and artistic reinvention. After making waves with her opening performance for Eartheater’s live show in Rome and winning Anonima Project’s call for an exclusive videoclip, Yoniro’s presence at the Levi’s Listening event is a testament to her boundary-pushing creativity.

Salvatore Versace, another key figure of the event, brings his expertise as a music producer, songwriter, and DJ. Having founded OOPART Studio in 2021, Versace crafts electronic music environments that evolve depending on the setting. His work exemplifies the idea of reinvention—each live set is a unique experience, a fluid reinterpretation of soundscapes that resonate with the audience in real-time.

Also taking the stage is Imer6ia, a French electronic musician known internationally for her presence in the wave music scene. Her work is characterized by a fusion of trap, trance, and EDM sounds, producing a soundscape that feels both ethereal and visceral. With a passion for the surreal, her music exists in a space that is futuristic, otherworldly, and abstractly elegant. Her performance is a perfect complement to Levi’s mission of reimagining what it means to be timeless.
