Lidl orchestrated an unforgettable evening that blurred the lines between runway and reality—one fresh ingredient at a time. Celebrating its unprecedented eighth win as the champion of freshness with the prestigious Retail Award for Freshness in the Fruit & Vegetable category, Lidl served up an avant-garde showcase at Wilhelm Studios, marking a new high for Berlin’s fashion calendar.

In an unassuming corner outside the city center, this tucked-away venue became the epicenter of a groundbreaking moment where fashion met fresh produce. The runway was a visual marketplace, merging the bold aesthetics of F/W 25/26 with an unexpected yet utterly captivating accessory—fruit and vegetables. Yes, you read that right. The night’s runway was a playful yet purposeful statement on sustainability, food culture, and couture that looks good enough to eat.

Movement director Christiana Angelescu choreographed a fresh, dynamic runway, with top model Karolína Kurková showcasing the refined attitude of the night and bringing the entire vision to life. Internationally acclaimed stylist Dogukan Nesanir—better known as Dogi—curated bold, fashion-forward looks, enhanced by Rim Zemuye’s impeccable hair and makeup artistry. Among the guests enjoying the spectacle were Ski Aggu, Wana Limar, Julien Brown, Phenix, Tarik Tesfu, and Melissa Khalaj, to name a few.

The show opened with models draped in bold silhouettes, their looks punctuated by vibrantly colored produce. The styling was a clever nod to both streetwear’s experimental edge and Lidl’s commitment to providing 160 varieties of fresh fruits and vegetables daily. The show’s grand finale took it a step further, with select guests receiving exclusive pieces from Lidl’s Fruit & Veg Fashion Drip—an artistic take on grocery essentials, proving that fresh produce isn’t just pantry-bound but fashion-forward too.

Having worked up an appetite strutting the catwalk, a dinner fueled by Lidl was the natural next stop for the after party. Following the show, the evening arrived at Ember, a rooftop haven in the heart of Berlin’s Kreuzberg district. With uninterrupted views of the city skyline, guests were treated to a dining experience inspired by Lidl’s finest fresh produce. The menu was an ode to seasonality, bursting with the freshest fruit and vegetables. Each course was meticulously crafted to showcase the vibrancy of Lidl’s selection—proof that great taste extends beyond the runway.

Complementing the feast was an expertly curated selection of wines, handpicked by Ember’s sommeliers from Lidl’s extensive collection. Each pour brought out the depth and complexity of the dishes, creating an experience that was both immersive and indulgent.

Although Berlin finds itself in the deep throes of sub-zero temperatures this winter, Lidl truly brought the heat this evening. The grocer is redefining the boundaries of fashion week. The grocer is embracing its role as a multi-arena tastemaker, and proving that great style and great food aren’t mutually exclusive.

It was not the individual store or department that was assessed, but the performance of the entire retail group. Lidl received the Retail Award 2024 for the 8th time in the Discount category.
