Lil Uzi Vert Co-Signs Marc Jacobs' Ubiquitous Tote Bag
Brand: Marc Jacobs
Season: Fall/Winter 2021
Buy: Online at Marc Jacobs' website.
Editor's Notes: Lil Uzi Vert, notoriously eccentric style-setter, is the new face of Marc Jacobs.
The rapper stars in a campaign for the label's new monogram collection, a range of apparel and accessories sporting a revamped version of the Marc Jacobs logo.
Taking logomania to the next level, a repeating rendition of the brand's emblem is applied all over essentials including T-shirts, work pants, and a collared jacket. Also included in the range are loungewear basics — oversized hoodies and sweatpants — and one of Marc Jacobs' most popular accessories, The Tote Bag.
The canvas shopper was first introduced in 2019 under the label's diffusion line, The Marc Jacobs. Since its launch, the semi-structured, utilitarian-yet-polished carryall has become a favorite among customers and industry insiders.
Lil Uzi Vert succumbs to the tote's charm, modeling the mini version of the accessory for the totally monogramed campaign.
The artist has been spotted sporting Marc Jacobs a number of times.
In 2018, he paired the label's trackpants with Chanel sneakers and a heaping of diamond jewelry.
Two years later, he starred in a lookbook for Heaven, the Marc Jacobs sub-label that's captured the hearts and wallets of Gen Z.
Uzi is a staunch supporter of another American fashion giant, Thom Browne, who dressed the rapper for last year's Met Gala — and helped the outré artist construct one of his most eye-catching outfits yet.
Given that Uzi supposedly doesn't work with a stylist, his stamp of approval is high praise for any designer who dresses him.
