In a new interview with DJBooth, producer and Mac Miller collaborator Theolonious Martin revealed that there might be more music from the late rapper out there. Although Swimming was the last album Miller released before his death in September 2018, Martin says producer Madlib told him they had finished a whole collborative project titled Maclib.

Martin recounted opening for Madlib at Pitchfork Festival in summer 2018. "So I’m opening for Madlib, and about 15, 20 minutes left in my set, Madlib pulls up. Pete Rock walks up as well. So I’m trying to focus and DJ, and Madlib gets on and 15 minutes into his set he just randomly plays a Mac Miller joint. And I turn to him, I’m like, “There’s more of these, right?” He said, “Oh, yeah, there’s a whole album. Maclib.” What! What! He just kept moving on with his DJ set. If Madlib decides to bless the world with that project, he should."

Madlib has already released a couple of collaborative albums - Madvillian with MF DOOM and Jaylib with Jay Dilla. Most recently, he announced Bandana, a new full-length with Freddie Gibbs. The pair previously worked together on Piñata from 2014, which included a Mac Miller verse on the title track.

Mac Miller's Swimming was posthumously nominated for Best Rap Album at this year's Grammys, but lost to Cardi B's Invasion of Privacy.
