Margiela Wants You to Pay $1,000 for Less Than a Quarter of a Shirt
Maison Margiela has never been one to shy away from experimentation. From sending iPhone charger belts down the runway to dropping neon yellow incarnations of the otherwise understated Replica sneaker, there's no questioning its a brand that likes to push the industry's boundaries. But has it missed the mark with this drop?
Described quite ordinarily as a long-sleeved white poplin shirt with button closure, Margiela's skeleton shell shirt serves up the bare bones of your usual Oxford layering piece for a fraction of the cost (of a downpayment on a house).
Of course, we've had plenty of time for recent drops from the French fashion house, including dope new sneaker colorways and silhouettes. And, with OFF-WHITE's upcoming collaboration with RIMOWA on a transparent suitcase, we can't rule out the possibility that the label is tapping into a 2018 trend we're yet to have forecasted.
Think you can rock it? We've included a link to cop below.
